Entermodal

We’ve done a piece about Larry Olmstead and Entermodal in the mag [Portland Spaces, May/June 09], but in case you missed it, Entermodal Portland’s own luxury leathergoods company, doing handbags, wallets, travel bags and more in veg-tanned Italian leather. Now you have the chance to peer behind the curtain into the Entermodal studio as Olmstead and crew set up a pop-up factory in Olio United (1028 SE Water). That means Olmstead is packing up his ancient stitching horse, tools based on designs that predate the Industrial Revolution, and “a selection of never before released leather options and colors” and heading to Olio United for the weekend, August 29-31 where they’ll sew Olio’s fall order, take custom orders, and demonstrate the traditional leatherworking techniques they employ along the way.

The Entermodal Pop-Up Factory will be August 29, 7-10 PM during Olio United’s One-Year Anniversary Party and August 30 from 11-6 PM.
