Tune up your eco knowledge at Ecohaus
Starting tonight there are some informative meetings and talks at Ecohaus at 819 SE Taylor Street. Brief update: Ecohaus used to be called Environmental Building Supplies. By either name, it’s a one-stop resource for eco-friendly building and home materials, from flooring and countertops to paint and finishes. Plus, they just unveiled their fancy new showroom remodel at a party a couple weeks ago (same location), so check it out.

Indoor Air Quality Talk Wednesday, June 18, 5-7pm Come learn about pollutants that may be in your home, office or school, effecting your health and find out what you can do to get rid of them. An Air Quality specialist will address different ways we can unwittingly bring toxic pollutants into our lives, help you learn what to look out for and avoid, and give you tips on how to make the air you breathe healthier.
Paint & Coatings Sunday, June 22, 12-3pm Safe and natural coatings for walls, exteriors, toys, and decks do exist! You don’t need to use a petrochemical or dangerous cleaning agent to achieve a beautiful home inside and out. Learn about earth wall plaster, saliva safe toy finish, VOC free paint, natural cleaners and more. Demos and workshops throughout the afternoon.
Guest Lecture by Shannon Quimby Wednesday, June 25, 5-7pm Local HGTV personality and book author, Shannon Quimby will talk about her current project, the Reuse Everything eXperiment, or REX House. Acting as general contractor, blogger and media personality for the project, Shannon is up to her ears in contractors, deadlines and Ecohaus interior finishes. Come learn about the process, the project and her final product choices. Always a spirited lecturer, Shannon will answer questions on everything from design to her dog wash!
Grand Opening Celebration & Vendor Fair Saturday, June 28, 12-4pm Celebrate the OFFICIAL GRAND OPENING of our new showroom! Ecohaus will host a vendor fair and barbecue in their parking lot. Learn from vendors what new products are on the market, what’s hot and why environmental choices can be your best option. FREE barbecue from 12-3pm. Live music.
