Kids Design, Part Deux

When I was a kid, I imagined my dream bedroom: It had a turret I could climb up to reach the roof, a window seat, a skylight, and a nook for my bed with a window above it. My dream house had a wrap-around porch. Minus the turret (I must’ve grown out of that) those are all still elements of my dream home. I remember trying to draw out the house and bedroom, but I was (and still am) hopeless at putting my visions on paper.

If only I’d known about this: A kids’ playhouse design competition. If you have kids, this is yet another chance to get their creative juices flowing. (Click here for another.)

10 Grain, a California-based kids’ design company and Coochicoos, a kids’ furniture site and design blog, are sponsoring a Perfect Playhouse Design Competition to find out how children would design their perfect playhouse. They can present their designs in any way or any medium they want.

There are two age categories: 6 and under, and 7 to 12. Deadline to submit is April 25.

Check out all the rules and more information here.

If anyone has any kids who enter, I’d love to see what they’re working on. Leave a comment!
