Modern Shed

Everyone I know could use just a little more space. But when you hear the word, “shed,” you probably think of a sagging lean-to or worse, one of those ugly metal shed. I think of spiders. Like the spiders who live in the structure in my backyard.

Those spiders are one of a handful of reasons that my own shed is in sorry shape: its siding is buckling and it’s being overgrown by or embraced by the monster laurel planted just outside its door (that I can no longer see thanks to laurel but I know it’s there). Neglected? Yes. Useful? Not in this condition.

But.

Seeing images of these smart prefab modern sheds from…Modern Shed is making me take a new look at my shed. I’m not going to raze and rebuild, but who knew a shed could look so…inviting?

Admittedly these are brand new and somewhat posh installations, but I think the real secret is the double doors with glass inserts that make them so light and not so much like spider habitats. Yet another example of how especially in the Great Northwest and especially especially as we head into winter, light is so crucial.
