Gerding Edlen’s Elleven in Downtown LA

There are on average 23 filming projects happening in Downtown Los Angeles everyday. Until recently, no one complained because no one lived there. Since 1999, however, LA’s central city population has doubled, and the new neighbors say they’ve had enough. Increasingly, downtown residents are complaining about loud explosions at night, street obstructions and other hassles associated with the entertainment and movie business, which pumps $58 billion per year into LA’s economy.

So why is this relevant to Portland? It was Portland’s own Gerding Edlen Development that built the first condo tower Downtown LA had seen in decades.
