The Burnside Blog
Lynchpin Pearl Development Moving Forward
The Daily Journal of Commerce reports what exactly developer Gerding Edlen and designer GBD architects have in the hopper for the full-block concrete building on NW 14th and Flanders. Writer Libby Tucker’s descriptions are nice, but there are no renderings. I’ll try to get something on Burnside Blog later today.
Rumors have long circulated regarding the future of this building, which is slated for office use with ground-floor retail and a large public events space. Plus, Tucker reports the lobby is planned to have interplay with another important project: the proposed relocation of the old Sauvie Island bridge to cap Interstate 405 and provide crossing for bicyclists and and pedestrians.

I don’t know how I missed that. Thanks for the information. If I had to deal with Landmarks, I’d do the same thing.

“Gerding Edlen has decided not to release a rendering of the proposed project until after it goes to the Historic Landmarks Commission April 14.” I wonder why. http://www.djcoregon.com/articleDetail.htm/2008/03/20/Developer-architect-unveil-proposed-design-for-Meier-and-Frank-warehouse-Project-will-go-before-Hist
