This Thursday, three hours, nine architectural firms, one book.

From the press release:

For the February exhibition in its new Center for Architecture, AIA Portland is proud to present “Cross Section of 9,” exhibiting the work of nine forward-thinking Portland architecture firms.

The exhibit will open for public viewing beginning First Thursday from 5:30 to 8:30 pm. You are invited to a private reception this evening from 5:30 to 8:30 pm.

Cross Section of 9 presents residential and other works of the following nine firms:

Richard Brown Architects AIA

Chesshir Architecture

Colab Architecture + Urban Design

Dowd Architecture Inc.

Giulietti / Schouten AIA Architects P

Hans Kretchmer with Green Gables Design and Restoration

Jeffrey L. Miller Architect, PC

Robertson Merryman Barnes Architects, Inc.

Vallaster & Corl Architects

All nine firms are featured in the recently published book Dream Homes Pacific Northwest: An Exclusive Showcase of the Finest Architects, Designers & Builders in Oregon & Washington.

The Portland AIA Center for Architecture is located at 403 NW 11th Ave., 223.8757.

Good God…who on earth chose those firms? Someone has good PR.

I may be wrong but I belive that each of these firms paid for their places in the book… that’s not so much PR, as it is BS.
