After crunching hard data from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, the Department of Agriculture, and the Zagat Survey, Cooking Light has named its annual top 15 cities for healthy living here. The result? PDX is second only to the Emerald City.

To celebrate, I’m heading to Low Brow for Tots and Dogs. It’s Friday.

This is crap. Yes, Portland is healthy. But, yes, Portland is also the France of the USA. People love pig parts, pates, foie gras, and all kinds of weird fatty food. I’ve also never seen so many smokers in my life. And what type of city hasn’t banned smoking in bars yet? In San Francisco, they banned smoking ten years ago! Ten years ago! Then again, San Francisco doesn’t have a tram.
