Listen up. Portland isn’t exactly a major stopover on the lecture circuit, so when so when a big name like Roger Martin comes to town, you’d be silly not to go. Ziba Design and Wieden+Kennedy have lured the “design thinker” Martin, Dean of the Rotman School of Management at the University of Toronto, to WK headquarters Friday March 7 from 9:15 a.m. to 10:30 a.m. Roger will talking about his new book, The Opposable Mind.

So what is “design thought” anyway? Martin’s book, and his speech, will focus on his belief that integrative thinking (the thought process employed by designers) can be learned, fostering creativity, innovation and competitiveness. Registration is free.
